Take your children on the ultimate coastal adventure with our Ocean Explorers Activity Day – a thrilling and safe way for children to discover the sea. Combining surfing, coasteering, and essential water safety skills, this day is perfect for adventurous school groups ready to explore Cornwall’s coastline.
Designed to challenge, inspire, and build confidence, Ocean Explorers offers hands-on learning, outdoor fun, and a chance for every child to experience the magic of the ocean.
What’s Included
Full wetsuits and water safety equipment (including buoyancy aids)
Expert instructors and full supervision throughout the day
Swim Safe training to build sea confidence and water awareness
Exciting surfing and coasteering sessions
Structured, safe adventure designed to engage and challenge children
Sample timetable
| 9.15am | Arrival and safety briefing Welcome, introductions and essential beach and water safety information to ensure a safe and fun day. |
| 10.00am | Swim Safe Training Children learn vital skills to stay safe in the sea, including understanding waves, currents, and safe paddling techniques. |
| 10.30am | Surfing Get ready to catch the waves! Pupils practice balance, technique, and confidence under expert supervision. |
| 12.00 – 12.30pm | Lunch Break Lunch not included. Pupils should bring a packed lunch. |
| 12.45pm | Coasteering Explore Cornwall’s coastline safely! Pupils scramble, climb, and jump under instructor guidance, combining adventure with teamwork and problem-solving. |
| 2.15pm | Cool-Down A relaxed end to the day with gentle activities and time to unwind. |
| 2.30pm | Departure from Great Western Beach |
All water and beach based activities are carried out by our partner company Newquay Surfing School (AALA R2169) .
